Design and Quality of Making
As I checked Bajaj Chetak in my nearby showroom, this electric scooter has a retro-modern design. Because of the solid metal body, you get a robust look.
As per my talk to the showroom manager and also from my personal view of Bajaj Chetak, the vehicle can resist tough weather conditions.
Friend, after this I visited the nearby TVS electric scooter showroom. As I checked the TVS iCube, I found its design sharp. Compared to Chetak, this electric scooter looks light.
As I analysed its build quality, I found it to be made of high-quality plastic. The electric scooter will work well for continual urban use.
Performance
I again went another day to the Bajaj Chetak showroom to check the performance.
Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has 4.08 KW electric motor. The electric vehicle gains a top speed of 70 km/hr.
I had a test drive on this day. I practically found that the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter reached a speed of 0-40 km/hr in just 3.9 seconds.
During this test drive, I could also check the modes. I found two riding modes-eco and sport. One important benefit of modes is that you can shift between efficiency and performance.
After checking this area for TVS iCube, I found that it has a 4.4 KW electric motor.
The speed of this electric scooter is 78 km/hr. It is a bit higher than the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter.
As I had a test drive of this TVS brand of electric scooters, I found that it reaches from -40 km/hr in 4.2 seconds. This is a bit higher than Bajaj Chetak.
TVS iCube provides you with two riding modes. These are eco and power. It is up to your preference.
Battery and Range
As I checked the battery of Bajaj Chetak electric scooter, I found that it makes use of a 3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
As per my further talk with the showroom manager, Bajaj offers a 95 km range in the Eco mode. In the sport mode, it offers a range of about 85 km.
Bajaj Chetak electric scooters charge the battery to the fullest in 5 hours.
When I checked the same features in TVS iCube, I found that it uses a 2.25 kWh lithium-ion battery.
The vehicle gives you a range of 75 km in eco mode and power mode, you get 65 km/hour.
You can charge the battery completely in 5 hours.
Display
Then I looked into the display part of the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. I found that the digital console has Bluetooth connectivity. Amazing feature. Isn’t it?
One of the special features I found with this version of the Bajaj electric scooter is the anti-theft feature. It is a very important feature especially when you park vehicles in risk zones.
When I saw the display of TVS iCube, I found the facility of smartphone integration. The company uses SmartXconnect technology for this vehicle.
I found the park assistance a good feature associated with this version of the TVS electric scooter.
Cost of Scooters
I then talked about the price. I found the current ex-showroom price of Chetak between ₹1.42 to ₹1.54 Lakh, depending on the variant.
You get this vehicle in select cities.
The TVS iQube’s current price is ₹1.25 Lakh per piece as per my talk with the showroom manager. You get this vehicle in all major cities.
However, when comparing ownership costs, the cost of servicing Bajaj Chetak is relatively low, making it a budget-friendly option for long-term use.
Final Thoughts
Keeping in mind the safety parameters and a much stronger body, I would personally prefer the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. I would love to buy it despite the price being a bit higher.
But I am not denying the good qualities of TVS iCube. Through this blog, I tried to give you some information that will benefit you. Rest, you are the best judge for your choice.
