Hey, you may want to select an electric scooter. Many are there like you. I have personally driven Bajaj Chetak EV and OLA Electric.
In this blog, I will compare Bajaj Chetak vs OLA Electric scooters. Based on this, you can have a choice.
In this blog, I will compare certain important parameters associated with both electric vehicles. Bajaj Chetak and OLA Electric are two good brands in the market.
You may want a comparison before you select the right electric scooter for daily rides. Do not worry. I am here to help you.
Some of the areas where I did the comparison are based on my experience with both the e-scooters. You may buy any of the two but comparison will give you prior knowhow.
1. Battery Life
Bajaj Chetak EV has a 3 kWh IP67-rated lithium-ion battery. The battery life lasts seventy thousand km(70,000 km).
As per my viewpoint after such a battery, the battery for Bajaj Chetak e-scooter will last for many years.
As per your daily commuting distance in the city, it will last for years.
When I inquired about the battery of Ola Electric, the experts said that it has a 3.97 kWh battery.
It is comparatively bigger than the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. The battery can endure damage. It is also reliable.
After seeing both in this area, I conclude that both batteries have fine performance. Ola Electric battery has a big upper edge due to a bigger capacity.
2. Charging time
After this, I thought about testing the charging time for the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. I found that the Chetak EV takes 5 hours to charge the battery completely.
Apart from this, I was able to see the fast charging option of the Bajaj EV. I was thrilled when I saw that it charges 25 per cent of the battery in just one hour.
After this, I charged the OLA Electric battery. It took 6 hours to complete the charge. It also provides a fast charging time of 18 minutes for half battery charge.
As I could conclude, Bajaj offers a quick full-time charge. But OLA Electric has faster charging capability.
3. Speed and range
As I checked the speed through my expert fast driver, I found the Bajaj Chetak EV with a maximum speed of 70 km/hr.
After driving OLA Electric to full speed, the maxim went to 115 km/hr.
As I could analyse, OLA Electric outperforms when it comes to speed. But the Bajaj Chetak EV has an upper edge in terms of safety because of its restricted speed.
If you’re considering the Ather 450X or Bajaj Chetak, speed is just one factor. The Chetak offers a safer ride at lower speeds, while the Ather provides a more powerful performance.
4. Price range
I went to both the showrooms and compared current prices.
The price of Bajaj Chetak EV is 1.42 lakh INR.
The price of OLA Electric is 1.25 lakh INR. This price range makes it a bit affordable.
5. Electricity usage
After this, I thought that let me check the electricity usage of both the vehicles.
The Chetak EV consumed 3.5 kWh for a 100 km drive.
Then I drove OLA Electric for the same distance. The electricity consumption was 4 kWh for a 100 km drive.
As I could conclude, Bajaj EV carries an upper edge.
6. Look and design
As I deeply looked into this area for both, I found Bajaj EV has a retro-modern design.
Ola EV carries a futuristic design with modern appeal.
The design choice depends on the individual. But in case you want a retro look, the Bajaj Chetak EV is a preferable option.
7. Features they offer
Then I thought let me just compare some features between the Bajaj Chetak and OLA electric scooter to conclude.
I found the regenerative braking and anti-theft mechanism in the Bajaj EV an added advantage.
OLA Electric too has a wonderful feature like keyless operation.
8. Comparison of a few advantages of the two
The lower maximum speed of the Bajaj Chetak EV is a big advantage according to me.
The fact is I have always been inspired by the famous tagline– SPEED KILLS.
On the other hand, OLA Electric EMV has a higher maximum speed. But it is not a beneficial factor for city traffic.
Final Thoughts
Friend, in the above blog I tried to help you choose the right scooter based on my own experience.
I know that choosing between two top e-scooter brands can be very difficult, as I was in the same situation a year ago.
Based on years of riding the Bajaj Chetak and OLA electric scooter, I would prefer the Bajaj Electric EV. The credit goes to some good safety factors, which ultimately led me to cancel my Ola electric scooter decision.
