Toyota is bringing back a one-time discontinued addition to its compact SUV lineup, the C-HR, now as an all-electric crossover called the C-HR+.
Originally ceased in the U.S. in 2022, the new C-HR was conceived for the global EV age to ultimately support Toyota’s ambition to achieve sustainable mobility.
The adventurous re-entry of this new C-HR+ puts it into the company of other electric models from Toyota such as the bZ4X as it continues to grow its EV presence in Europe and beyond.
Performance and Powertrain Options
With the all-electric Toyota C-HR+, looks are just part of the story, and it’s loaded with performance to impress.
Consumers will be able to select from two battery packs: one with 57.7 kWh and another one with a higher capacity unit at 77 kWh. These are mated with various powertrain options to suit all driving preferences.
It is offered with two power outputs, 167 PS and 224 PS, on the front-wheel drive (FWD) derivative, with the lower power choice being perfect for the purpose of daily commuting.
For those who want a little more thrill behind the wheel, the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model gets a mighty 343 PS and sprints from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in an impressive 5.2 seconds making it class-leading.
Design and Interior Features
The all-new Toyota C-HR+ takes a stand with its striking, futuristic design which is unique among compact SUVs. Thanks to its “hammerhead” front-end design, coupe-like sloping roofline, and sharp body creases, the EV provides a striking visual statement on city streets.
Inside, the C-HR+ is allegedly more “premium compact” than ever before. The cabin includes a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen, dual wireless smartphone chargers, ambient lighting, and a panoramic roof designed to offer a more positive user experience.
Interior space has also been a focus for Toyota, and the front and rear occupants still have plenty of legroom and headroom despite the car’s low, sleek, coupe-oriented look.
Charging Capabilities and Range
Toyota guarantees that the C-HR+ is not only powerful and good-looking, but also highly functional for everyday and long-range driving with its multiple charge options and generous driving range. Here’s a quick breakdown:
