Design and Aesthetics

The Tesseract’s design is inspired by aviation, particularly combat helicopters, featuring sharp cuts and creases for an aggressive, futuristic look. It sports dual LED-projector headlamps with floating DRLs, enhancing visibility and aesthetics. The scooter is available in three color options: stealth black, sonic pink, and desert sand, catering to diverse consumer preferences.

Performance and Specifications

The Tesseract is powered by a 20.1 bhp electric motor, delivering impressive performance with a 0-60 km/h acceleration in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 125 km/h. It boasts a certified range of 261 km on a single charge, based on the IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) standard, making it one of the most capable electric scooters in terms of range. Ultraviolette claims that with Rs 100 worth of charge, the scooter can achieve 500 km through two charges, suggesting high efficiency.

Advanced Features and Technology

The Tesseract features dual radars and front and back cameras, enabling safety features such as blind spot detection, overtake alert, collision alert, and lane change assist. The 7-inch TFT touchscreen display offers navigation, ride analytics, and smartphone connectivity through the Violette AI suite.

Safety and Comfort

Safety is a priority, with the Tesseract equipped with traction control, dynamic regeneration for energy optimization, and dual-channel ABS. The Omnisense mirrors and spatial awareness features further enhance rider safety, making it one of the most secure electric scooters in the market. Comfort is addressed with a 34-liter underseat storage capacity and a design suitable for urban and extended commutes.

Market Context and Competition

The Indian electric two-wheeler market is witnessing rapid growth, with players like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and TVS Motor dominating the scooter segment. The Tesseract’s entry, with its superior performance and advanced features, is expected to shake up the premium segment. Compared to competitors, it offers a longer range and more tech-heavy features, potentially appealing to tech-savvy consumers. Its pricing, especially the introductory offer, positions it competitively against models like the Honda Activa e and TVS iQube, which start at similar price points but lack the Tesseract’s advanced safety and connectivity features.

Company Vision and Future Plans

Ultraviolette’s CEO, Narayan Subramaniam, emphasized the company’s vision, stating, “With the Tesseract, we aim to put a spacecraft on two wheels,” highlighting their commitment to innovation. The company also unveiled the Shockwave electric enduro bike alongside the Tesseract which indicates a diversified product lineup to cater to different segments.
