Market Response and Bookings
The Matter Aera has received an overwhelming 40,000 pre-bookings in the first month of its launch, demonstrating high demand for India’s first geared electric motorcycle.
Pre-bookings are open on Matter’s website, Flipkart, and OTO Capital for a token of ₹999. The two models, Aera 5000 and Aera 5000+, will cost ₹1.74 lakh and ₹1.84 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

Matter Motor Works has teamed up with Bharti Airtel to implement cutting-edge IoT solutions in the Aera electric motorcycle.
Automotive-grade eSIMs from Airtel will provide real-time tracking of vehicles, performance, and analytics through the Airtel IoT Hub. 60,000 Aera bikes will be fitted with these features during the initial phase, improving the connected riding experience on Airtel’s pan-India network.
Future Plans and Expansion
Matter Energy plans to open 100 experience centers in 40 Indian cities by early 2025 to increase customer interaction and support.
By late 2025, the company also intends to release an Aera model that is more reasonably priced for the 100cc market. Matter also plans to raise up to $200 million in order to construct a second facility that will be finished by early 2026 and have an annual capacity of one million units.
