Powertrain
Under the hood, the Creta Electric offers two battery options: a 42 kWh pack with an ARAI-rated range of 390 km, and a 51.4 kWh unit boasting a claimed range of 473 km. The smaller battery powers a single electric motor producing 135 PS, while the larger one ups the ante to 171 PS.
Charging is pretty efficient; a DC fast charger can juice up the battery from 10-80% in about 58 minutes. If you’re using an 11 kW AC home charger, expect a full charge from 10-100% in approximately 4 hours and 50 minutes.
Rivals
The Creta Electric isn’t entering the market alone. It’s set to compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara.
Final Thoughts
Hyundai’s Creta Electric seems poised to make a significant impact in the Indian EV market. With a range of accessories to personalize your ride, decent powertrain options, and competitive charging times, it offers a compelling package.
However, with strong competitors like the Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE 6, consumers have a tough choice ahead.
