Meet the 2025 Tata Harrier EV, Bookings open July 2, 2025

Tata Motors just dropped a heavyweight contender in India’s EV arena: the 2025 Harrier EV. Launched on June 3, it’s the sixth electric model in Tata’s lineup, starting at an attractive ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Packed with premium features, dual battery options, and rugged drive capabilities, it’s built to take on rivals and win hearts—and wheels.

Powertrain & Performance: Muscle Meets Efficiency

Under the hood, the Harrier EV offers two strong LFP battery packs: a 65 kWh unit and a heftier 75 kWh version. Tata quotes an impressive 627 km ARAI range, though real-world, you’re likely to see 480–505 km—still exceptional for its segment  .

And performance? A head-turner. The dual-motor AWD “QWD” model dishes out 390 bhp and 504 Nm torque, sprinting from 0–100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds  . Instant torque, precision, and enough grunt to tame highways—or muddy trails.

Trim Variants: Tailored to Your Taste

Tata rolled out the Harrier EV in three personas: Adventure, Fearless, and Empowered, plus a bold Stealth edition with matte-black styling . The entry-level variant includes:

  • 18‑inch aero wheels, LED pro‑projectors, roof rails, side steps, and puddle lamps
  • Dual 10.25‑inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, OTA software, iRA connectivity
  • Terrain modes, cruise control, AVAS, 6‑airbags, ABS, ESP, EPB with auto-hold
  • V2L/V2V, electric ORVMs, puddle lighting, and a panoramic sunroof on higher trims

It’s not just loaded—it’s luxuriously detailed.

Tech Highlights: Infotainment, Safety, and Connectivity

One of the Harrier EV’s hallmark features is its 14.5‑inch QLED infotainment screen, matched by a 12.25‑inch digital cluster and 10.25‑inch driver display . Sound? A 10‑speaker JBL setup with Dolby Atmos delivers cinematic audio, while multi-color ambient lights set the mood for every ride.

On-road visibility gets a boost with 540° surround camera and “transparent” underbody view—handy for tricky parking or light off-roading . Plus, Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control and intelligent emergency braking brings premium safety to the segment.

AWD and Off-Road Prowess: QWD Unleashed

Tata expects about 20% of Harrier EV sales to be the AWD “QWD” variant . For good reason: electric motors deliver torque instantly to all four wheels, making off-road drive smoother than most combustion-based 4x4s. QWD stands for Quad Wheel Drive, and it’s relevance is increasing—motorsport-grade response, higher traction, and versatility all rolled into one.

Expect themed drive modes like Sand, Rock‑Crawl, Snow, and Eco/Boost to tailor performance, depending on where your adventure takes you.

Charging & Battery: Fast and Flexible

Need a quick charge? The Harrier EV supports 120 kW DC fast charging, hitting 0–80% in about 25 minutes . At home, 3.3 kW/7.2 kW AC charging ensures full top-ups in a comfortable overnight window.

With Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, it doubles as a mobile power station—charge your gadgets or lend juice to other electronics.

Booking, Pricing & Availability

Bookings open July 2, 2025, with provisional prices for higher trims expected around ₹30 lakh mark, depending on battery and AWD options .

Dealers are already taking unofficial pre-orders, signaling great demand .

Final Thoughts

The Harrier EV marks Tata’s most ambitious electric move so far: a family-friendly SUV with real-world usability, tech-rich interior, and performance to match its rugged name.

If you’re hunting for an EV that doubles as a daily driver and weekend warrior, this one is acing its test—especially when the all-wheel-drive QWD variant rolls out.
